Tagomics closes £6.7m funding round

Portfolio company Tagomics recently closed a £6.7M funding round, led by Calculus Capital.

Start Codon is delighted that portfolio company Tagomics, which we spun out of University of Birmingham alongside our friends at IQ Capital a few years ago, has secured a substantial amount of funding.

The funding round, totalling £6.7m, was led by Calculus Capital, and the syndicate includes Illumina Ventures, IQ Capital, Agilent Technologies Ventures, Mercia Ventures, OMX Ventures, and the Midlands Engine Investment Fund (MEIF) Proof of Concept & Early Stage Fund (managed by Mercia), plus several angel investors.

This investment will supercharge the application of Tagomic's innovative multiomic platform, enabling them to unlock greater insights into diseases such as cancer and develop more precise methods of diagnosis, monitoring, and treatment.

Tagomics also announced they will become the first company to occupy the new Illumina Ventures’ Labs space in Cambridge, which provides access to sequencing, mentorship, and fully equipped genomics lab capabilities.

The Start Codon team extends their congratulations to the Tagomics team and is excited to see where this takes the company as they work to revolutionise genomic medicine!
